The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center tour (annex of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum) begins at Washington, DC’s U.S. Navy Memorial, at 9:00am. Board the bus for Chantilly, Virginia to visit the Steven F Udvar-Hazy Center, where hundreds of aircrafts and artifacts were previously stored away in the Smithsonian’s archives, due to limited space.
Guided by our professional and friendly tour guides, marvel at the:
- Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird – the world’s fastest jet-propelled aircraft
- Air France Concorde – the first supersonic commercial airliner
- Boeing B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay – which dropped the first atomic bomb during WWII
- Elite Space Shuttle Discovery – surrounded by missiles, rockets, space capsules and satellites.
With the full-day tour, break for lunch at the Food Court before heading back to DC for the second portion of your tour – the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, covering more than 160,000 square feet – including the Milestones of Flight, the Apollo Lunar Module, and the Wright Brothers Exhibition Hall.
The Museum holds the world’s largest collection of historical aircraft and spacecraft, and learn about history’s most legendary space programs, including the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions that sent John Glenn into space and Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to the moon.
Both tours end at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. .
